Every bit of what you said today has brought back ton of memories from my childhood that I had with my very family (especially the dick head, manipulative narcist father that I have). I too had a complicated relationship with my parents. I left home at 17 by leaving a note on the kitchen counter...eventually moving to another city by the age of 19. I'll never forget riding home with my old man after a late night at the bowling alley in the early 80s...he was so wasted and made me shift the gears on his truck on the ride back. hahahah I was fucking terrified. He would become a nut after he would catch a good buzz. I wish he was still around...a lot has changed since he died.
