I had no idea this was happening. There was a time when I followed Sports Illustrated religiously, but today it does not cross my mind at all. I grew up three miles from the Spokane Indians ballpark. What a great place to watch a game. They have the Brett brothers to support them but places like Salem-Keizer don't, and their stadium is just fine. I know they do not have the history of other teams, but to cut Daytona or the Chattanooga Lookouts? That's pretty harsh. Thanks for this, and please give us more stories we would not have found without the podcast.

Where do you think your fan base for the BIG stadiums, the BIG league teams, and the BIG, BIG dollar players comes from?
Do you really think Jimmy and Johnny go out to play stickball anymore? When's the last time you saw a pick-up baseball game?
These teams cost pennies compared to those high dollar salaries you're giving players who do you think draws more interest and especially in smaller communities?
Hell, the money the Nats planned to pay Fausto Segura alone would have probably covered some of these minor league teams for a year.
