After my divorce, I had to decide to sell or buy out the troll. I bit the bullet and bought her out, having to pay again for a house I bought but we owned. Well, it is 2,200 sq. ft. on an acre of land. I almost never see relatives or have friends over. It is rural and they never want to come here. Today I am as happy as a clam. Single, no child care payments, just me and my career. I would like to avoid work but I cannot do that in my field - in a social career that part of it is an occupational hazard. But I come home and no one bothers me, ever. Will that change as things get worse? I don't know. Still, like you I am walled away from the rest of the world and frankly feel great about it. I have family and friends that are not so fortunate, I know, but I am not so close to any of them to care that much. By the way, I have a brother in Spokane that works at a convalescent home owned by the same Life Care agency in Kirkland where the majority of elderly are dying. I am worried for him, yes. And as for Life Care in Kirkland, not only are they dying prematurely, but the cost of care there is approximately $9,000 per month (https://www.familyassets.com/nursing-homes/washington/life-care-center-o...). Yeah, that's what they are getting for their money, with and without Medicare. Thank you for modeling how to live and your concern for your listeners.

This info is from my friend that works for CDC that passed this along to his family and friends. I'm passing it along as well..
The new NCP coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days, how can one know if he/she is infected. By the time they have fever and/or cough and goes to the hospital, the lungs is usually 50 % Fibrosis and it's too late!
Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning:
Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stuffiness or tightness, etc.,it proves there is no fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicating no infection.
In critical times, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air.
SERIOUS EXCELLENT ADVICE by Japanese Doctors treating COVID-19 cases:
Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat is moist, never DRY. Take a few sips of water every 15 mins at least. WHY?
Even if the virus gets into your mouth...drinking water or other liquids will WASH them down through your esophagus into the stomach. Once there in tummy...your stomach ACID will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more regularly....the virus can enter your windpipes and into the LUNGS. That's very dangerous.
Pls send and share with family, friends and everyone.”

Tom, most of the people dying are older - over age 70. The percentage or death rate is probably much lower than stated because many might not realize they have it so don’t even get tested. And keeping people on the cruise ship is something they should be doing. Do you really want them released in the masses and let it spread further? Not get what you mean there, I think even the Governor of California doesn’t want to release them out to the public yet. I’m 29 and being very careful but I think you’re being overly harsh. America has 22 deaths so far and overwhelmingly older people with weaker immune systems so far. H1N1 killed roughly 12,500 people under Obama but I didn’t hear you saying anything negative then. Am I being cautious? Hell yea and I’m not going to any event. I was about to go to a hockey game but I’m cancelling, but you should be a little more fair in my opinion and not so opportunistic to pounce on every single thing that can be seen as a blunder from Trump. Doubt you’d even mention it if Hillary Clinton or Biden were at the helm. Maybe I’m wrong but you don’t seem too objective honestly. Just my thought but wish you well and stay safe.

" H1N1 killed roughly 12,500 people under Obama but I didn’t hear you saying anything negative then.?"

That is Correct, However, Obama DID NOT FLIP FLOP and LIE like mental Disorder Trump.

".. but you should be a little more fair in my opinion and not so opportunistic to pounce on every single thing that can be seen as a blunder from Trump. Doubt you’d even mention it if Hillary Clinton or Biden were at the helm"

Any other Candidate Would not withhold information like Trump, MOST IMPORTANTLY Any other Candidate would not Cut the Budget on the CDC like Trump.

"...America has 22 deaths so far..."
Wait until those Opioid Epidemic Republican states Get the Virus...We are going to get Sad results with Week immune systems thanks To Opioids.

I don't see your OPINIONS as Objective ether.

Mortality rate - ~3% - for those above 60, its much higher, which is where the scare comes from.

For most with normal non-compromised immune systems, it isn't a big deal. This is coming from John Hopkins, not the white house.

As for your claim about hospitals being ready, you are correct there aren't enough beds for the potential numbers that will get infected. No country has enough, anywhere.

Your first link is how the various govt agencies are handling this. I don't expect much out of big govt, so it isn't a surprise to me.
Your second link is about how the cruise ship is under quarantine -- they should be, that isn't surprising or "defying science".

The virus will make it out to Santa Barbara wine country Tom, there isn't going to be a single place where you can't possibly contract it. The exponential rate of the infected will make this a certainty.

So unless you have a Level-4 "Bunny Suit" that you're going to wear everywhere at home, you're still at risk. No one is set up to that level, even the hardcore preppers. In one of my jobs I used to work in a pharma company in a clean room, so I know what it takes to remain clean -- and no-one has it.

Point is, it will sweep the globe. Reinfections have already been documented. There is no "wait it out and it goes away" strategy that will work. Summer may delay the second wave, but you'll get another wave after this first one.

There is no escape, just be as healthy as you can be and watch for symptoms and have decent access to some kind of health care -- at your income/savings level, you can afford to pay for a doctor to come to you, which is an advantage.

Stay well Tom, but honestly, you're gonna get it just like the rest of us.
