Wow. I thought I had it bad with no power for 26 hrs, in the lush, sub-tropical SFV, the day it hit 116 last July. Can't even imagine 4 days.

I reckon the ranch rats got their revenge on Tom for selling that delicious Toyota by eating the power cable instead.

Moved my business up to Oxnard in July. How can I help Tom?

No apologies needed, Professor. I don't pay for your time. I gladly pay for your wisdom, knowledge, and (to a slightly lesser extent) entertainment. Welcome back!

If your ranch solar elec system has batteries, it can be configured to generate AC when power company feed is down. This "failover" should happen automatically with out incident...

After the tankless water heater failure, can you recommend a preferred brand, as I have to replace mine. Will probably get a RHEEM brand

Submitted by TallTim on

Yep, was thinking the same thing. Solar plus a nice bank of batteries could keep Tom going if he gets disconnected from the grid.

Seems like a prudent investment to make, especially in a remote area.
