I just listened to this episode for the second time and once again, it made me emotional.
I started the year caring for my mom as she had brain surgery to remove a tumor. She spent 8 of the 10 days that she was in the hospital, in the ICU. I was with my mother everyday and I can't tell you how WONDERFUL and caring each of her nurses were.
My mom was released 2 weeks before we went into lockdown and there is not one day that goes by that I don't think about each of those nurses. I wonder, how many of them are still alive?
It's a very sad thought to think about and it is why I get so angry at the people who refuse to take this virus seriously! I won't turn this post into a political statement. All I will say Tom is that you're right, we need to get to a place where we can treat each other with more compassion and show a lot more empathy!

MIA this Christmas
There are two more empty chairs at dinner tables since I lost two of my closest relatives to CoronaVirus since July. I last met them January 2020 and sure miss them so please believe Tom about how dangerous this virus is. I lit my fireplace while thinking about them and talked to some of my friends and family by phone and text. I wonder if some people I have known became homeless or worse since some have not responded to my message during Thanksgiving. I am grateful and relived of my friends who are still alive. I hope Tom and everyone reading this is having a relaxing Christmas day and enjoying a good dinner.
