ADULT CHILDREN AND THEIR MONEY PROBLEMS ARE NOT YOUR PROBLEMS Why in the world would a dad put up with the financial demands of his adult son's fiancée? For that matter, why would YOU?

Here's the blog that got Tom all revved up: I offered my son $30K for a down payment on a home. His fiancée wants a written agreement for my gift to be split 50/50

Where do you stand? Tell Tom: tom@blowmeuptom.com.

I do not feel that financial or other type of parental support is bad, unless parents over do it and spoiled kids to the core. Is the son spoiled? Perhaps but at least he has his own place to live in. Offering money makes son's life easier and at the same time exposes what the fiancee is after.

Lets focus on the fiancee and where she gets her financial education. If girlfriend is asking for a written agreement means she was already advised by divorced mom on what/how legally girlfriend can get her claws on.

You're right, this is a big red flag! Hope the son is rethinking his decision to marry this gold digger. If you ask me, she did him a big favor by exposing her real motives. You don't learn how to take care of yourself when people give you money. Had my own experience when an ex-girlfriend kept bringing up the debt she had from paying for her mother's surgery over and over again, but I took your advice and did nothing to help her.

I agree with Tom I have met many men who did this then turned bitter when the house got lost in the divorce often the son is so PUSSY whipped he just gives the house to her and moves back in with his parents like a total cuck. 30k is a lot to give away even if that is pennies to you wait until they have kids or have been married for at least five years first.
