TOM GETS INTO IT WITH RACIST AND TRUMP-SUPPORTING NEIGHBORS Tom needed some brush clearance at the ranch. But all it took was one post on a local Facebook page looking for a new rancher with a herd of cattle that needs to graze. Tom just had a few simple rules that person would have to follow. Then, all hell broke loose!<--break->

Here is Tom's Facebook post:

I know how you feel when you get into it with potus supporters, they start to fall apart and resort to name calling or shame your lack of ethical standards. Of course people have been judging you, unfairly and without complete understanding, for a long time. Like you appear to be a masoginist, but thats not even close to it, anyone who came to that conclusion about you would be mistaken.

You have every right to decide who you want to have on your land.

What I'm not understanding is how you could move out to a rural area and not realize that statistically speaking, they're mostly conservatives. Any cursory look at how counties voted would've shown you that immediately. So, you bought the ranch anyway. Then you are surprised when you make a post in a mostly conservative small town that they object. Really Tom? Are you "taking the piss" as our UK neighbors say across the pond?

I'm also shocked to hear that you allow your housekeeper to deliver butchered meat to you without knowing who has handled it, and whether or not they had gloves/masks and proper precautions taken. You mentioned not doing take out just for that reason. What if you have some virus on the plastic wrapping? Or worse yet, some that got into the blood or the meat itself? (I suppose cooking helps, but you still handle it raw initially.)

Now I wonder if you're going to salt the earth now that you've had Trump lover cows on your land.

Them's the breaks, I guess.

It's a good point, but I guess we're supposed associate "racism" and "hate" with conservatism? I always thought these things were mutually exclusive. I'm sure Tom is aware that he's in a "conservative" area, but wanted to make it clear that he doesn't care about political affiliation...he just doesn't want to support/be connected with people who feel comfortable with and/or spreading hateful ways of thinking; and I feel he calls it out clearly in his advertisement. The fact that its clearly upsetting so many for this reason is the outrageous part.

The point was Tom's surprise at getting any blowback at all.

I doubt the qualifiers of "no racists" was the problem. The real problem here was Tom expecting a mostly conservative population (and I'm guessing they support the prez) to not say a word about his firmly blue-rooted desires.

That's just shitposting to me. Anyone can go into a group and make a post that will piss someone off. It doesn't take skill.

I'd also like to add that most ranchers are 2nd amendment supporters too, so pissing off a contingent of possibly armed ranchers ranks up there in the "what the fuck are you thinking" column, too. Bottom line is, the cows don't care who supports who.

I wouldn't want to deal with them either. Probably the kind who will eventually move to a red state where they can hobnob with like-minded (mindless?) types and bitch about how "decadent" California is...

Find someone with goats. They'll eat everything - if you have noxious weeds, they don't care, they'll eat em to the root. Plus maybe you can get some goat cheese out of the deal.
