HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH JUNKIES IN THE FAMILY? Hear all about a Redditor who's been getting shit from her husband's family because she doesn't want his sister, supposedly "clean" for two whole months now, to come visit.

AITA for telling my husband that his sister needs to be clean for a least a year before she is allowed in our house?

My sister is 15 years younger than me. After 10 years of abusing alcohol and psychiatric prescription drugs in her 20's, she called me from her rehab in Malibu, CA and "announced" that on outtake, she was moving to Phoenix, AZ to be near to me, as her "support system".
I wrote her back and said: "NO. Absolutely not. I'm thrilled that you have gotten help. You need to take those tools and go build a life somewhere. NOT around me. I don't want it. And my family doesn't want it."
She went ahead and moved to Phoenix and called me. I refused to take her calls. The rest of my family supported her. I didn't speak to ANYONE in my family for 8 years.

Anyone who knows ANYTHING about addiction, knows that TOUGH LOVE is the ONLY option. How sad and grotesque that the Reddit poster doesn't see that her sister-in-law is the ASSHOLE.
