ARE 'PANDEJOS' SCREWING UP COVID-19 PROTOCOL? That's what Tom's guest, LA Times columnist Gustavo Arellano, calls them: a word created from the words "PANdemic" and "penDEJO". Why are so many Mexican Americans flouting COVID protocols and is it okay to call them out on it?

Here's Gustavo's Los Angeles Times about this subject: Don’t be a ‘pandejo.’ Take the pandemic seriously

I would love Gustavo's take on Woke language. I get that Latinx spawned from the trans community and their need to feel empowered. I also understand that a case for it could be made when considering some of what Gustavo talked about. Machismo pandejos have controlled dialogue in Latin communities. It might actually be better for the Latin community not to identify gender wise, so not to think traditional communication and familial patterns have to be maintained. Latin communities might actually prosper if they give up some of those traditions. Love Gustavo. Thanks, Tom.
